61st Cannes Film Festival Awards

The jury of the 61st Cannes Film Festival, presided over by Sean Penn, named the Prize winners. At the end of the ceremony, Barry Levinson’s closing film What Just Happened? starring Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Bruce Willis was screened for the audience. The Palm d’Or remained in France – it was awarded to French director Laurent Cantet for his film Entre Les Murs. Clint Eastwood received prize for The Exchange. But most notable prize for best male role went to Benicio Del Toro for his role as Che Guevara in the 4-hour epic CHE by Stephen Soderbergh.
