The cast of the animated film Super Mario was unveiled last September and since then, we haven’t heard much other than Chris Pratt (the voice of Mario).

Now, however, during an appearance on the American talk show Jimmy Kimmel live, Charlie Day – the voice of Luigi – talked a bit about his own role. When invited by Kimmel, Charlie mentioned how he went to a booth alone to record lines and didn’t really know much about the script – that’s that secret.

“I play Luigi, in fact, I just recorded this this morning and I would like to tell you everything but they are top secret with this… I don’t know anything… Mario probably knows, but they don’t don’t say anything to Luigi.”

He went on to joke about how two guys with hammers would break their necks if he tried to tell anyone anything about Illumination’s upcoming animated movie. Here is the full exchange:

Along with Charlie Day talking about the secrecy of the film, the film’s producer also mentioned how phenomenal Chris Pratt’s voice is as the voice of Mario. Pratt himself said it was a dream come true and he was “working hard on it”.

Pratt and Day will be joined by an all-star cast with Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong.

The animated Super Mario movie will hit theaters in December.
