Tyler Perry is home to a new home with Tyler Perry’s A Homecoming Madea. The first film in his iconic billion-dollar comedy franchise since 2019 A Madea family funeral is also the first Madea film on Netflix after a run of 12 films at Lionsgate. The streamer released a trailer on Wednesday ahead of its February 25 release date.

Perry wrote, directed and of course starred in the final pic, which focuses on Madea’s great-grandson’s college graduation. The celebratory moment is interrupted when hidden secrets and family drama threaten to destroy the happy homecoming.

Tamela Mann, David Mann and Cassi Davis Patton return with Perry to reprise their roles, joined by Gabrielle Dennis, Brendan O’Carroll, Brandon Black, Isha Blaaker. There’s also an appearance from Brendan O’Carroll, who dresses to play Agnes Brown.

Will Areu and Mark Swinton are producers. Perry is the executive producer.

Perry reportedly ended his prolific Madea persona, which began on stage, after Family funeral. Last year, however, Showtime devoted itself to developing My beauty, a drama series created by Perry and Tim Palen that traces Madea’s origin story. It is written by JaNeika and JaSheika James.
